Orris root resinoid, obtained by solvent extraction from carefully aged rhizomes. It is one of the most prized materials in perfumery due to the long, multi-year process from cultivation to final extraction.
Its aromatic profile is complex and refined: floral-woody with powdery, violet facets, a soft earthy base, and a sophisticated rooty character. It adds powdery depth and velvety texture to floral, woody, oriental, and chypre compositions.
Works both as a character note and a fixative. Professional raw material, must be diluted before incorporating into a formula.
How to use
Dilute in perfumery-grade alcohol or a carrier oil before applying to skin. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light. For use by experienced perfumers and formulators only.
