Rose Oil — Type Taïf
Olfactory family
Primary: Floral
Secondary: Rosy · Spicy · Honeyed
Olfactory profile
Built to evoke the dense, spiced rose profile associated with Taïf material: a rosy opening with pronounced clove and pepper facets rather than the green-dewy character of a Bulgarian distillation. The heart is honeyed and slightly jammy, and because the composition is assembled rather than extracted, it holds a straight line through the dry-down instead of the fading complexity of a natural. Consistency between batches is its principal advantage over a natural rose oil.

Character
Intense, diffusive and stable. Reads sweeter and more linear than a natural otto, with no congealing behaviour and no seasonal variation.

Use in perfumery
Position: Heart note · accord base
Used as a ready-made rose accord, either as the whole rose in a formula or as a body underneath a small percentage of natural otto or absolute. Its stability makes it suitable for functional and cosmetic applications where a natural rose would be uneconomical or would vary between production runs.
Effect in composition
Adds a full, spiced rose presence and reinforces sweetness. Gives volume to a floral heart at a fraction of the cost of a natural, and holds its shape in bases where naturals discolour or shift.
Blends well with
Olfactory affinities — not a statement of shared sourcing.
- Rose Otto — Turkish (Anatolian) — a small addition restores naturalness
- Agarwood / Oud Oil — rose-oud constructions
- Leather Oud — fully compounded rose-leather accords
- Cistus / Ciste Épuré Absolute — ambery fixation
- 2-Isobutyl-3-Methoxypyrazine — trace green contrast
Perfumer’s perspective
Worth considering when the rose has to be reproducible, cost-controlled or stable in a difficult base. It is not a substitute for a natural rose in a brief that requires one, and we list it under Specialty Materials for exactly that reason — so the distinction is visible before purchase rather than after.
